Prairie Artisan Ales Apple Brandy Noir

Published on: Apr 13 2015 by admin

Prairie Artisan Ales Apple Brandy Noir is delicious. You can view my awesome image below. I need to get instagram to make that shit look tight. If you don’t know Prairie Artisan Ales is the brewery that put Oklahoma on the map for craft beer. They love to age beers in barrels like breweries are wont to do these days. It’s just that they seem to be really good at it.

This particular gem was aged in apple brandy barrels. An Imperial Stout aged in apple brandy barrels. If you are familiar with their Noir series it’s basically close the same base stout. The beer pours a dark brown. It smells of apple brandy which is good. Once you let it warm up a bit the flavor really comes out. It starts out like it will have a hard brandy punch to it but smooths out in the finish. It made me wish I had bought several of them. This by far is my favorite Prairie Artisan Ales offering yet.

It does pack a punch coming in at 12% ABV. The IBUs come in at 70. After finishing the bottle I wanted to just smell it after I was done. It smells amazing. If you see this beer I recommend it. Which probably doesn’t go for a lot but still there it is. I’m hopeful to see more experimentation like this.
