Rahr & Sons brewery tour in Fort Worth

Published on: Jun 02 2014 by admin

I remember my first Rahr and Sons brewery tour after the snow storm that collapsed their roof. It was a much smaller event then and they were the only brewery in the area that was not a brew pub unless you count Coors. While it has changed and grown a lot bigger in actual tour space and attendance, the spirit still remains the same. Low key place to drink some good local beer. Now they have two bars to handle the crowd. Two large areas with tables and plenty of space outside. Most importantly they have plenty of bathrooms.

They offer two tours during the week. My favorite is Rahr’s Wednesday night tour. You get an extra half pour of their special beer that night. Sometimes it is a seasonal release that you can sample early such as bucking bock or iron thistle but sometimes it is something else. For instance one time I had a chocolate bacon porter. So keep track of them on their facebook page to keep track of what will be on tap Wednesday night.

On both Saturday and Wed tours they always have their regular brews on tap like ugly pug, storm cloud , blonde and red. Enjoy some of the local food trucks and bring the kids if you want. On Saturdays I would also suggest that you bring your own chairs if you arrive a little late. If there is room at a table I suggest take a seat and talk to someone new. Beer tends to bring out the best in people. Well a couple of beers do anyway. If you haven’t checked out Rahr yet I suggest you do.
