Franconia Brewery Tour

Published on: Jun 05 2014 by admin

The Franconia Brewery Tour is a pretty fun tour despite lacking some of the things the other breweries do. For $5 you get as many pours of their beer as you want. You can buy a larger glass for $5 if you would rather sip out of that instead of a plastic cup. The actual tour does take about an hour. Now opposed to other breweries in the area where the tour is kind of there and takes maybe 10 minutes this one is more of the focal point. The owner is very entertaining. He trained and got his masters in brewing in Germany and is a purist. No fancy beers brewed with berries from Franconia and that is ok.

I liked about every beer that they had on tap. There was a Marzen a Kolsch a Dunkel and a Lager. If you go in the summer the tour portion in the freezer will be really enjoyable. While sipping a beer you can get a closer look at a brewery that is environmentally friendly. After the tour is over you can feel free to walk around and explore the brewery a little more or talk to some of the other visitors. If McKinney is a bit of a drive for you, Franconia now bottles their beer. So make the drive or pick up a six pack and be sure to try Franconias beer if you have not already.
